Incursion au cœur de l’univers des ondes
Tout est phénomène d’ondes. De la lumière au son, de l’atome à l’Univers… Aussi bien électromagnétiques, sismiques, sonores que gravitationnelles, les ondes fournissent aux scientifiques nombre d’explications dans le domaine de l’astronomie.

Fruit d’un tout premier partenariat entre Espace pour la vie et l’Office national du film du Canada (ONF/ René Chénier), l’œuvre Kyma, ondes en puissance explore l’univers des ondes en célébrant, au fil du parcours, la place singulière du vivant. Conçu et réalisé par le cinéaste Philippe Baylaucq, sur une musique originale de Robert Marcel Lepage, ce conte allégorique, tout en image et en musique, perpétue la grande tradition visionnaire et l’esprit de l’ONF.


KYMA, Power of Waves

A voyage through the universe of waves
Waves are everywhere. From light to sound, from the tiny atom to the immense Universe… electromagnetic, seismic, sound or gravitational, waves help scientists delve into many astronomical mysteries.

The fruit of the first-ever partnership between Montréal Space for Life and the National Film Board of Canada (NFB/ René Chénier), Kyma, Power of Waves explores the universe of waves and celebrates the singular place of life in it. This allegorical tale told in images and music, created and directed by filmmaker Philippe Baylaucq, with an original score by Robert Marcel Lepage, is true to the NFB’s great visionary tradition and spirit.
